Danielle with her two wonderful teachers, Miss Jenna and Miss Contessa. Miss Contessa has been Danielle's most consistent teacher this year and has really created a special bond with Danielle. Danielle comes home frequently with painted finger and toe nails and new hairstyles thanks to Miss Contessa. Miss C says no other student makes her laugh like Danielle! We have been so impressed with the Academy of Heritage Commons and are so grateful to Ms. Dawn and Ms. Jennifer's direction at the center. They offer a phenomenal program and Danielle has learned so much while thriving in a creative and loving environment. We are so appreciative of their leadership and dedication to the kids. We love you Miss Jenna and Miss Contessa (who cried harder than most parents during the commencement ceremonies!)  Danielle looks like this because the picture I took before - she had her eyes closed, so she is trying to open them wide to keep it from happening again!

Future PGA Star

This is John Tanner and his golf pro Galen during his indoor lesson at Legend's Golf Course. I'm trying to figure out how to post videos of his lesson, but to no avail so far. I'll post them as soon as I can get it figured out! Today they worked on posture and lining up with the ball as well as JT's follow through. Galen is great with him and very encouraging. John Tanner is really enjoying his lessons thanks to Grandpa! Looks like we'll be getting him some golf cleats soon to go with those new clubs and lessons. John Tanner is hoping to play the 9 hole Lil' Course at Legends with Dad and Grandpa during his next visit!

This is Danielle and her friend Brooklyn in the giant rocking chair at the Factory of Franklin. They were there to attend a birthday party at Third Coast Clay where they painted unicorns and enjoyed party fare.

Ready for Kindergarten

I can't believe this day has come....my "baby" is graduating from pre-school tomorrow and will be starting Kindergarten in a few weeks. I think I'll do better on her first day than I did on John Tanner's just because she is SO ready. She is so bright and is ready for this next big chapter in her life. I told her that I'd take her to school her first day to meet her teacher and to take pictures and she said "Mom, I don't need you to do that, I'll just ride the bus with Bubby." No way I said - I get this moment - you can start riding the bus on the second day!
Her graduation from "Kindergarten Bootcamp" will be amusing. We know that the group will be reciting the Pledge of Allegiance and will be singing "The National Anthem" and we might be in a bit of trouble.....the teachers have asked us to please make Danielle understand that she can't scream "Play Ball" at the end of the anthem.....Oh help!!! It's going to happen anyway....I just know it. Maybe she'll have stage fright like she did singing at church. Although her teacher says she sings louder than anyone...which we already suspected. She practices singing the National Anthem while sitting on the toilet - that is how we know she is somewhere in the house going potty. She is usually singing at the top of her lungs. Anyway, I will post pictures and hopefully video of her graduation ceremony tomorrow night. Love this picture...she's a cutie, isn't she?

2011 Special Moments to Remember

I wanted to share some special moments with you from the past few months.  We have been so busy and have done so much that before we get into all the harriness of preparing for a new school year and a slew of Fall events - I thought you'd want to see some highlights of this past Spring and Summer.  Amazing to see how the kids have grown and changed and to remember precious memories made this year.
Lots of love,
Laurie
